We finished up a new Waterwise Reticulation and Turf installation in Alkimos today. This back yard has gone through quite of a transformation in the last few days.
Last week we started on some pre-laying of the main line and electrics so the carpenter could finish off the decking on this new build. As it is in most new properties the builders have left a sandy soil to work with. Being in our coastal area of Perth we really need some good healthy soil for the turf to establish its self.
So we cleaned this area up and added in 80mm of good landscape mix filled will all the minerals and organics that the new lawn needs to grow and flourish for years to come. To ensure that we would get the best waterwise results we used the Hunter MP Rotor nozzles for the turfed area, and Netafim tech dripline in the garden beds.
Being so close to the coasts and the salty sea breeze we chose a turf that would hold up to these elements as well as being hit with a lot of sun through out the day. The Empire Zoysia along with its deep root depth and drought tolerance was the best choice for this back yard.
In this Install we also added a Hunter Solar-Sync weather station. That takes real time weather readings from your property either being to hot, cold or if there has been any rainfall and makes the required changes to best suit the garden and your wallet.
Here is how the install went.
